【USR小螺絲釘 × 砂勞越｜12/6期末英語課溫馨總回顧】🌏💚✨ 12月6日，是USR小螺絲釘國際志工本學期與砂勞越原民小朋友的最後一堂線上英語課。歷經五週的跨國陪伴，志工們為這堂期末課設計了特別的總複習，以歌曲、遊戲與暖心祝福，陪孩子們為這學期的學習旅程畫下充滿笑容的句點。雖然每次正式授課只有兩位志工分別負責高、低年級，但在這一天，所有志工都錄製了影片，親自向孩子們問候：「下學期見！」而砂勞越 facilitator也貼心地讓孩子錄下回饋影片，為志工們帶來最珍貴的驚喜。 🌿【高年級志工的心聲：從緊張自疑，到看見孩子專注的雙眼】 高年級志工Wendy分享，期末課一開始連線不穩，讓她非常緊張，但最後順利解決，課程也順利展開。孩子們一開始有些分心，但有了 Ester 與 Diana 的協助提醒、翻譯，學習逐漸回到軌道。 她坦言，一開始接下志工角色時非常不安，因為她認為自己「沒有經驗、英文也不夠好，真的可以教嗎？」但在教案討論、錄影準備與每週上課的循環中，她慢慢發現——孩子不期待完美，只期待你願意陪他們學習。她更體悟到，「只要你敢開口，他們就會用閃亮的眼睛看著你、跟著你。」 她也分享本學期最大的教學收穫： • 透過帶動讀與聲音高低變化吸引注意 • 運用動作與遊戲讓孩子更容易記住 • 影片中的孩子，仍能看見強烈學習意願 「小朋友吸收知識，我們也覺得欣慰。如果沒有所有老師與facilitators，就沒有今天的國際志工。」 🌱【低年級志工的感動：第一次完整教課，就被孩子的熱情融化】 對最後一堂課低年級的志工亭瑜而言，12/6是她第一次「完整授課」。當她聽到 Peter 他們說出第一句話時，那瞬間的感動讓她差點落淚：「一開始的擔心，在聽到他們聲音時全部轉化成能量。」 雖然網路偶有延遲，需要靠讀唇判斷孩子的回應，但課程仍順利進行。 她設計了辨認 positive/negative 的動作遊戲，也帶入環保概念 don’t cut the tree。孩子們雖需多思考，但都願意嘗試，甚至最後成了 Peter 在回答問題🤣。 期末課還加入了唱跳活動，雖然孩子們害羞不太敢唱，但在做動作時卻快樂投入，讓志工深受感動。「每次花很多時間做教案、錄影、設計遊戲，很累，但看到孩子們這麼投入，全部都值得了！」亭瑜更觀察到與台灣孩子很不同的一點： 「即使他們不知道答案，也會勇敢舉手、衝到前面回答。」 最後一堂課，所有國際志工們（Olivia、Wendy、Polly與Ting-Yu）還一起錄製影片在課程最後給孩子美好的驚喜。 ✨【跨國陪伴的力量：連線時常延遲，熱情從未斷線】 本學期六週的線上課程中，有連線中斷、有設備挑戰，但每一次都因孩子的笑容、志工的用心與 facilitators 的默默支持而順利完成。 這份跨國教育的旅程，不只是英語課，更是彼此心裡的一束光。 📶❤️ 訊號偶有延遲，但陪伴與學習的熱情始終炙熱不滅。 期待下學期，我們一起飛向砂勞越。🌈💚

🌈 USR International Volunteers with Sarawak Children: Online English Program (12/6 Final Class) 🌈 The December 6 session marked the final English lesson of the 2025 fall semester between USR Little Screws international volunteers and the indigenous children of Sarawak. To celebrate the end of this six-week journey, volunteers designed a special review session with songs 🎶, games 🎲, and warm closing videos 🎥. Although each weekly class was usually taught by only two volunteers, all volunteers recorded personal video messages for the children, expressing gratitude and their hope to meet again next semester 💛. The Sarawak facilitators also surprised the volunteers by helping the children record thank-you videos 🙏, bringing joy to everyone. 🌿 456 graders’ volunteer reflection: Unstable connection issues at the beginning of the class 📶⚠️ were resolved quickly. Once the connection stabilized, the class ran smoothly. Although the older students seemed distracted at first, facilitators Ester and Diana provided translation, reminders, and classroom support 👏, helping the students become fully engaged. Wendy, who taught the final class, recalled how anxious she was at the beginning of the semester 😰—doubting her English and teaching skills. Over time, she discovered that the children did not expect perfection; they simply needed someone willing to speak with them and guide them 💕. She learned that using voice variation, gestures ✋, and interactive activities kept attention high and deepened understanding. Seeing the children’s eagerness to learn—even through video—filled her with gratitude and fulfillment ✨. 🌱 123 graders’ volunteer reflection: For Ting-yu, this final class was her first complete lesson with the younger children. Hearing their voices during roll call instantly moved her 😭 and turned all her worries into strength. Although the internet occasionally lagged, she adjusted by reading lips and pacing the lesson with care 🔎💬. She introduced games helping children distinguish “positive” and “negative”, added movement 💃🕺, and taught environmental concepts like “Don’t cut the tree” 🌳✋. During the song-and-dance activity, the children were shy to sing but joyfully followed the motions—an uplifting moment that deeply touched her 💗. Despite the heavy workload of lesson planning, video recording, and game design, seeing the children fully engaged made every minute worthwhile. Their bravery—volunteering to answer even without full certainty—left a strong impression ⭐. She expressed heartfelt thanks to facilitators and volunteers who supported her growth. 🌟 Shared hope for the future: Across all reflections, the volunteers expressed deep appreciation for the children’s enthusiasm 🧡, the facilitators’ constant support (Diana, Esther, Mel, and Peter) 🙌, and the teamwork among volunteers. Looking ahead, they hope to bring in more interactive games 🎉, creative review activities ✍️, and even stronger cross-border collaboration 🌏. Above all, they hope to continue nurturing a joyful, meaningful learning environment—one where the internet may lag, but the passion for teaching and learning never fades 🔥.
