On August 15, 2022, members of WHC-USR to participate in a video conference with the Founder of Green Umbrella- Mr. Sokrath on how to cooperate with in the future. During the meeting, it was mentioned that there is a lack of teachers in public schools in Cambodia, resulting in a reduction in the number of hours students attend classes. In some cases, some schools don’t even have teachers so the students have “Free Time”. In order to improve the education, Green Umbrella uses the concept of “Teacher-Trainer”, where 9th graders serve as English teachers to assist students younger than them. Sokrath said that these prospective 9th grade English teachers need know “classroom management” and “curriculum design”, which immediately ignited the service spirit of our USR team because this is our profession. The teachers used their summer vacation to discuss how to assist the Teacher-Trainer Program.
