舊城秘境 學習新界 Secret Garden in Old Town, New Areas for Learning (撰文: 季慕華老師 Written by Yolanda Chi)

(2022/05/11，左營) 下午四點後翁一珍老師、季慕華老師，茉莉瓊安老師相繼抵達位於左營的立德國中，進行立德暑期雙語營的場勘，原本規劃四位教學助理同行，但是由於疫情嚴苛，且文藻已採線上教學演練，為避免教學助理奔波不便，且顧及兩校防疫，於是場勘由三位老師為主，與立德國中教務主任林維哲老師、教學組長黃佳文老師就合作事宜討論，參觀營隊活動所需要的會場，並拍攝和記錄相關設備，預計六月再由教學助理們實際走訪現場。

立德國中草木扶疏、校舍新穎舒適，特別是有各種專業教室，令人驚豔。此次暑期營隊以運動和健康飲食為主題，故選定e化教室、烹飪教室、運動天棚，及開幕/閉幕的會場。在運動天棚下，老師們遇見訓育組長也是任教體育的陳昀萱老師帶領一群學生，分幾個場地揮汗淋漓地進行匹克球雙打，這是立德國中推廣的重點運動，綜合羽球場地，網球球網，和形似桌球拍的大球拍，相當易學。其他運動例如籃球、直排輪都可提供提供學生使用。文藻老師和教學助理也可以利用營隊機會，互相交流，促進健康，期待七月營隊能為立德和文藻師生激發出夏日學習的火花。

(2022/05/11, Zuoying) About 4 p.m. Prof. Janet Weng, Ms. Yolanda Chi and Ms. Johanne Murray of Wenzao University arrived respectively at Municipal Lide Junior High School in Zuoying for a site visit in preparation for a summer bilingual camp to be conducted there. In the earlier plan, four TAs should join the teachers, but the visit had to be postponed to a later date as Wenzao had switched to online instruction mode due to pandemic prevention, making it hard for TAs to meet or travel together. Therefore, the three teachers took over the task of a site survey and discussed in detail with Director Weijhe Lin of the Office of Academic Affairs and Chief Chia-wen Huang of the Teaching Section. They toured around the campus, took notes, photographed and video-taped the venues and the needed facilities for the camp. The TAs were scheduled to visit the site in person at the end of June.

Lide Junior High impressed the teachers with its botanical heaven, buildings in modern and cozy looks, and particularly various specialized classrooms. As the summer camp would adopt themes of sports and healthy diet, so an e-classroom, a cooking classroom, a sports area with a canopy, and a meeting room for opening and closing ceremonies were soon chosen. Under the sports canopy, Wenzao faculty met Chief Yun-shuan Chen of the Discipline Section and also a P.E. teacher, playing Pickleball with pairs of students sweating at the courts. Pickleball is a featured sport that Lide has been promoting. It is a mixture of sports with equipment like badminton courts, tennis nets, big table tennis paddles, and is easy to learn. Lide also provides other facilities such as basketballs, in-line roller skates to students. During the summer camp, Wenzao faculty and TAs may also use the opportunity for an exchange to promote wellbeing. Let’s look forward to the interactive sparkles of summer learning in July between Wenzao and Lide.
