跨“越”國界傳愛千里，唇顎裂語言治療（撰文周琬婷，審稿林建勳）

「義大醫院-千里微笑越南語言治療計畫之越南語翻譯合作計畫」於2022年1月20日正式在義大醫院舉行了首次專題演講，演講主題為「唇顎裂語言治療」，由義大醫院復健科的語言治療師蘇嫺老師主講，並由文藻外語大學的口譯團隊杜氏鸞及陳亮吟同學即時進行越南語口譯。

蘇嫺老師及兩位口譯學生的組合可謂是「Super Team」。蘇嫺老師從唇顎裂的產生原因開始講解，再解說唇顎裂的主要治療內容，最後講述了唇顎裂語言治療方式，過程專業且有條理，文藻兩位同學的逐步口譯非常流暢，雙方合作無間，使得演講活動進行順利。

在活動結尾的Q＆A時間，越南的醫療人員向蘇老師提問：「越南家庭家長平常出外工作，沒有很多時間陪伴孩子練習，除了居家練習還有其他的方式可以做訓練嗎？」，蘇老師以自身的經驗回答:「通常還是建議一定要做到居家練習，如果無法做到五分鐘就做三分鐘，三分鐘不行那就一天做五次就好，唇顎裂語言治療只要有練習就一定會進步，或者可將練習融入日常生活之中。」通過這個問題，蘇老師也瞭解了越南在語言治療中可能會遇見的困難，有了口譯同學的配合，不僅消除了雙方的語言隔閡，在過程中也有效率地替越南的醫療人員解答疑問。

廖俊芳老師曾說：「成就一件事背後總有許多的推手」，在視訊鏡頭中雖然只拍攝到主講人蘇老師及兩位口譯同學，但在鏡頭沒有拍攝到的地方則有義大醫院的行政人員及文藻外語大學的師長們屏氣凝神、全神貫注地協助活動進行。此次專題演講藉由義大醫院的醫療專業、文藻師長的用心，加上同學的積極參與，才能順利地將唇顎裂語言治療方式分享給越南的醫療團隊。法國詩人-拉封丹曾說:「若不團結，任何力量都是弱小的」，通過義大醫院及文藻外語大學雙方的合作，今天完成了第一場專題演講，除了分享相關經驗外，也讓愛傳千里。

最後在演講尾聲，蘇嫺老師說:「就算同樣都是唇顎裂的孩子，每個孩子都仍是獨一無二的，就像大家也都是最特別的一樣。感謝每一個人，希望大家一起努力讓他們有更亮麗的笑容。」為了要幫助唇顎裂的孩子及其家庭，計畫的夥伴們聚集於此，朝向共同的目標一起學習、訓練並相互共勉，期許接下來的活動繼續傳遞溫暖、匯聚愛心，種下希望的種子，讓唇顎裂的孩童擁有更燦爛的笑容。

Spreading love across borders, speech therapy for cleft lip and palate （Translated by Peter Chou ）

On January 20, 2022, the first lecture on the topic of “Speech-and-language Therapy for Cleft Lip and Palate” was held at E-Da Hospital. The lecture was given by Hsien Su, a speech therapist from the Department of Rehabilitation of E-Da Hospital, and the Vietnamese interpretation was conducted by Thi-Luen Du and Liang-Yin Chen, the interpretation team from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. In the cooperation, Hsien Su and the two interpreter students were a “Super Team”. Ms. Su started the lecture from the causes of cleft lip and palate, then explained the main treatment of cleft lip and palate, and finally explained the speech therapy for cleft lip and palate. The step-by-step interpretation by the two students from Wenzao was very smooth, and both sides cooperated well to make the lecture event professional and well organized. During the Q & A session at the end of the event, the Vietnamese medical staff asked Ms. Su whether there any other ways to do the training besides home practice? Ms. Su replied from her own experience, “It is usually recommended to do home practice, if you can’t do five minutes, do three minutes, if three minutes doesn’t work, then do five times a day.” Through this question, Ms. Su also learned about the difficulties that Vietnamese patients may encounter in speech therapy. With the assistance of the student interpreters, there were no language barrier as the students were able to efficiently answer questions for the Vietnamese medical staff during the process. Although only the speaker, Ms. Su, and the two interpreting students were captured in the video footage, the administrative staff of E-Da Hospital and the faculty members of Wenzao assisted the event with their full concentration and attention. Professor Melody Liao said that “There are always many people behind the success of an event.” The lecture was made possible by the medical expertise of the E-Da Hospital, the dedication of the teachers from Wenzao, and the active participation of the students, who were able to share the cleft lip and palate language therapy with the medical team in Vietnam. The French poet La Fontaine once said, “Without solidarity, no power is weak.” Through the cooperation between E-Da Hospital and Wenzao, the first lecture was delivered successfully, and not only did the lecture share relevant experiences, but also spread love though thousands of miles. At the end of her lecture, Ms. Su said, “Even though they are all children with cleft lip and palate, each child is still unique, just like everyone else is special. Thank you to everyone and I hope we can all work together to give them brighter smiles.” In order to help children with cleft lips and palates and their families, the program partners gathered here to learn, train and encourage each other towards a common goal, and we hope that the next activities will continue to spread warmth and love, planting seeds of hope and giving children with cleft lips and palates brighter smiles.
