越南偏鄉真愛-孩子美麗的笑容 （郭沛岑撰文；林建勳審稿）

文藻USR-國際醫療口譯團隊經過半年培訓，於111/1/18早上10時至中午12時前往義大醫院與國際醫療部成員進行口譯演練，參與的人員有義大醫療國際部團隊：陳嘉卿高專、胡嘉真管理師、許文甄管理師、蘇嫺組長。文藻老師：廖俊芳老師、阮清廉老師，文藻助理:李世國學長、林思如學姊。文藻學生：周琬婷、郭沛岑、孫宗琇、王其鸞、陳亮吟、丁氏商、杜氏鸞。

廖俊芳教授在開場時，分享了台灣專業團隊為越南孩童的付出，非常令人感動。她提到疫情開始越南封城後，義大團隊與文藻口譯團隊攜手合作，一同克服文化差異、語言阻隔、設備問題，在義大團隊的專業帶領下，文藻的學生們學習到時間掌控、品質管理與高標準的自我要求。隨後廖博士介紹微型課程「加一元多一件」的概念，只要三次上課與三次志工服務，就能夠獲得一學分與義大醫院志工證明。期望文藻學生擁有──「利他精神」，將來進入業界時，除了擁有畢業證書外，也能具有利他精神，方能在職場上披荊斬棘，克服重重難關。接下來，阮清廉教授感謝在場的所有同學及人員:「因為有大家無私的參與，才能夠共同成就這個意義非凡的時刻。」

在進行口譯演練環節，由蘇嫺組長帶領義大團隊與文藻口譯人員進行討論，義大團隊細心確認口譯當日的流程與細節，包含設備的介紹與準備、口譯人員的配合與位置、口譯的內容及順序。文藻師生們與義大團隊溝通每一個細節，學生翻譯專業詞彙時，阮清廉教授適時指導改正，義大醫院、文藻學生、文藻教授三方合作無間，希望確保活動當日能流暢進行，達到最高品質的成果。

緊接著，蘇嫺語言治療師與口譯人員正式開始主題為「唇顎裂語言治療簡介」的演練，蘇嫺組長模擬口譯當日，邀請「Operation Smile」開場，接著自我介紹，請文藻同學進行口譯，翻譯過程中阮清廉教授提供兩個「語言治療」的越南語翻譯，提醒同學提高音量，蘇嫺組長透過分析越南唇顎裂語言治療現況切入主題，介紹什麼是唇顎裂與唇顎裂患者的需求，以及語言治療三大範疇──進食、語言、言語(說話)，進而分析五個病人家屬可能詢問的問題，為家長提供相關知識進行衛教，當中穿插影片分享輔助病人家屬理解唇顎裂病童可能遭遇的困難，最後舉出台灣語言治療的流程，讓家長清楚個案需要接受語言治療的原因與時長、治療方式、居家配合方法，以六項建議作結。文藻同學第一次進行專業的翻譯就能有如此精彩表現，令在場人員稱道不已!這過程中較難翻譯的字，在檢討與回饋時阮教授也根據問題給學生建議，廖俊芳教授與義大團隊則給予學生滿滿的鼓勵與掌聲，現場與會人員無不為這一次的演練動容，經過半年多的籌辦，團隊人員各司其職，發揮所長，共同點亮越南唇顎裂病童的希望之光。

After six months of training, Wenzao’s USR-International Medical Interpreting Team went to E-Da Hospital on January 18, 2022 (from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon) to conduct an interpreting exercise with members of E-Da Hospital’s International Medical Department. The participants include Senior Special Executive Officer, Chia-Ching Chen, Officers, Chia-Chen Hu and Wen-Chen Hsu, and Technician of Chief, Hsien Su from E-Da Hospital’s International Medical Department. The participants from Wenzao include teachers Melody Liao and Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem; assistants Amos Li and Jollis Lin; and students Wanting Zhou, Peicen Guo, Zongxiu Sun, Qiluan Wang, Liangyin Chen, Shishang Ding, and Shiluan Du. In her opening remarks, Professor Liao shared the dedication of the professional team from Taiwan to the Vietnamese children, which was very touching. She mentioned that after the borders of Vietnam were closed and cities on lock-down due to the pandemic, the team from E-Da Hospital and the interpreter team from Wenzao worked together to overcome cultural differences, language barriers, and equipment problems. Afterwards, Dr. Liao introduced the concept of “an extra for one dollar” in a form of a micro-class, where students were only required to attend three classes and participate in three volunteer services in order to earn one extra credit and a certificate of volunteer from E-Da Hospital. It is expected that Wenzao students will have the spirit of philanthropy so that when they enter the industry in the future, they will not only have a graduation certificate, but also have the will to overcome many obstacles in the workplace. Next, Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem thanked all the students and staff present, “Because of your selfless participation, we were able to make this meaningful moment together. During the interpretation exercise, Ms. Hsien Su led a discussion between the team and the interpreters from Wenzao. The team carefully confirmed the process and details for the day of interpretation, including the introduction and preparation of the equipment, the cooperation and position of the interpreter, and the content and sequence of the interpretation. Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem provided timely guidance and corrections to the students when they were translating professional vocabulary. The three parties (the hospital, the students and the professors), cooperated seamlessly to ensure that the event would proceed smoothly and achieve the highest quality results. After that, Hsien Su and the interpreter officially started the rehearsal on the topic of “Introduction to speech therapy for cleft lip and palate”, and the team leader invited “Operation Smile” to open the rehearsal, followed by self-introduction, and invited Wenzao students to interpret. During the interpretation process, Professor Nguyen Thanh Liem provided two Vietnamese translations of “Speech Therapy” and reminded the students to speak loudly and clearly. Next Hsien Su introduced what is cleft lip and palate and the needs of cleft lip and palate patients, the three major areas of speech therapy - eating, speech, and language (speaking), and then analyzed questions that patients’ families may ask to provide parents with relevant knowledge for health education. At the end of the session, we were presented the process of speech therapy in Taiwan, so that parents could understand the reasons and the duration of speech therapy, the treatment method, and how to cooperate at home. Wenzao student’s performance in their first professional translation rehearsal was very impressive! During the review and feedback, Prof. Nguyen also gave the students suggestions based on the problems he observed. Professor Liao and the team from E-DA gave the students a lot of encouragement and applause.
