The Wenzao USR WHC held the Cambodia International Volunteer Award Ceremony on September 28th in Q301 of Qiuzhen Building. The event is to thank the Wenzao USR WHC for their continuous free contribution to the Cambodian children, their long-term companionship and support of the Cambodian children in order to help them succceed in their lives. The Wenzao USR WHC has gone to Cambodia to serve local children in rural areas for six years. Even though the USR WHC were unable to visit and accompany the children due to the epidemic this year, they still continued to help Cambodian children to learn and grow through online teaching. Everyone look forward to bringing substantial progress to the children, and they also hope that their tiny efforts can help advance the country.
Teaching assistant Jollis Lin brought delicious lunchboxes to the event so that everyone can have an energetic meeting. Professor Janny Sun, the representative of the school, thanked and encouraged every international volunteer for their willingness to teach on stage or online, and give each international volunteer a handmade gift bag. The gift bag contains the Wenzao USR project cup and handmade soaps personally made by professor Janny Sun, making every volunteer feel warm. Professor Janet Weng also brought delicious snacks to share with everyone, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Later, professor Janny Sun explained the course content and assigned work during the meeting. The international volunteers look forward to creating better learning quality and more positive impact on Cambodian children.
At the end of the meeting, the teachers also cheered to every international volunteer, thanking them for their willingness to step out of their comfort zone and help the Cambodian children in remote villages to grow. They will surely get different experiences and memories from each other. Professor Janny Sun also welcomes everyone with the most tender words and looks forward to creating many beautiful stories together. If the epidemic slows down and stabilizes, Wenzao USR WHC plans to travel to Cambodia again in August next year to visit the children in remote areas.
