A Course in Service Reflection
On the evening of May 19th, Wenzao USR-WHC hosted an online seminar on service reflection which opened the horizons of 103 teachers and students in the class. The online seminar let the students know what constitutes a good service as well as a deeper understanding of “what is reflection?”
First, the presenter, Mr. Echo, let people knew how to make every service become better and better by sharing his own experience from Team Green Ant.
Many things started by accident, but looking back, we all grow from these experiences. Instead of looking at the service target from our own perspective, we should first think in terms of the needs of the service target and ask ourselves “Is what we are doing meaningful?” Through the lecturer’s explanation and the interaction from two simple activities, the audience learned which part of their service has a lasting impression and which part of their service needs more reflection.
Everyone wrote down key words and phrases, and the lecturer asked everyone to choose a picture that represents their mood among the many small graffiti. The lecturer asked each student to describe what they think the picture represents and why this picture represents their service experience. This method allows us immediately understand what we are doing? Why do we do it. The meaning of the service is therefore a valuable lesson.
