2020/10/07 教育部大學社會責任推動中心訪視文藻專業服務學習課程 Inspection on Wenzao’s Professional Service Learning Course by Committee Members from the Center for University Social Responsibility, Ministry of Education (季慕華撰稿）

(2020/10/07 高雄)為實地了解USR的推動成效，教育部大學社會責任推動中心蔡美玲教授和博士後研究員鄭錦英博士，特別由台南趕赴高雄，與「溫暖白色巨塔的小螺絲釘-文藻國際志工共創就醫無障礙」團隊會談，並觀察晚間文藻同學上課情況。簡報於18:30開始，計畫主持人廖俊芳教授首先介紹與會人員和計畫緣起，在場包括文藻大學社會責任辦公室主任施忠賢副校長、執行長王立勳研發長、專案經理李訓，和團隊翁一珍教授、孫韵芳教授、陳泰良教授、季慕華老師、計畫專任助理林思如。 (2020/10/07 Kaohsiung) In order to fully understand the performance of USR projects, Prof. Meiling Tsai and Dr. Jinying Cheng of MOE’s Center for University Social Responsibility paid a visit to Kaohsiung from Tainan to discuss with the WHC-USR team and to inspect on the course conducted in the evening. The briefing started at 18:30 with an introduction by Prof. Melody Liao of the participants and the origin of WHC-USR. Present in the meeting were Vice President Chung-Hsien Shih, who is the Director of Wenzao’s Office of University Social Responsibility, Dean Richard Li. Wang of Research and Development, who is the CEO, Project Manager Frank Lee, and members of WHC-USR, including Prof. Janet Weng, Prof. Janny Sun, Prof. Tai-liang Chen, Ms. Yolanda Chi, and Project Assistant Jollis Lin.

接著由翁一珍教授說明組織和訓練架構、深碗和微型兩門課程的目的與設計、課程與計畫、場域的關聯性，志工服務的運作和參與程度，跨領域教師社群與跨界合作講座與協同教學，回應委員們的五大提問。課程三年來的執行成效與目前因應新冠疫情變化的所做的調整，尤其是科技融入教學和志工服務，深獲委員的肯定。此外，委員也善意提醒注意國際志工海外服務時可能產生的「本土意識」落差，和當地除了英語之外，對華語學習的需求。 Prof. Janet Weng continued with a presentation on organization of the Project and training structure, the objectives and design of the deep-bowl and micro service learning courses, the relevance of the courses with the project and the service sites, the operation of volunteering service in the courses and the degree of students’ involvement, the teacher’s cross-disciplinary learning community and academic –industry collaboration in seminars and co-teaching in reply to the five major questions proposed by the committee members. The course development and achievements over the past three years and the current modification due to the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the application of technology to instruction and service, won the recognition of the committee members. However, they also kindly aroused attention to the gap of “localization” in international volunteering and the possible demands for Chinese language education abroad in addition to English.

會後，委員們在團隊老師的陪同下，分別到深碗課程的兩間教室，觀看上課並體驗衛教教學組和筆譯組課程，這是本學期依照自選志工服務的性質，第一次分組上課。小螺絲釘團隊是以「培育跨域人才」及「深化實踐場域」為我們兩個主要的Mission，為了培育學子們能夠成為熱愛生命、深具Serviam服務精神的跨域、專業文藻人，11位跨系所團隊老師們在精進優化跨域課程上面的確非常用心，不僅多次訪視實踐場域的需求，同時在專業服務學習的方案設計上面也非常費心，期待我們的計劃能夠成功達標，那也就不枉費小螺絲釘們的辛勞！

After the meeting, the committee members, in the company of the team faculty, respectively visited the two deep-bowl sub-classes in the labs to inspect and to experience the tracks of learning for hygiene education and translation purposes. It was the first time in this semester that students were divided in learning based on their chosen service. WHC-USR aims at cultivating cross-disciplinary professionals and consolidating practice at service sites in its mission. In order to nurture students into versatile professional Wenzaorians with zeal for life and the spirits of service as the Ursuline motto of “Serviam” advocates, the 11 faculty members from various departments have contributed their expertise on perfecting the scope of the cross-disciplinary courses by frequently visiting the service sites and mapping out a rounded service program. All the sweat and toil will not be yielded in vain for both faculty and students when our goals are fulfilled.
