Meeting Operation Smile Vietnam (OSV)—Opportunities for Super Volunteers! 會見OSV—成為超級志工，圓兒童微笑的夢，「越」來「越」近! (2019/12/20高雄義大醫院) 文藻USR-國際醫療志工團教師代表一行四人，於義大醫院安排下，與越南Operation Smile Vietnam (OSV) 代表團相見歡。文藻代表(陳立言教授、顧長永教授、廖俊芳教授、季慕華老師)由廖俊芳主持人領隊，與該機構計畫主任Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Duc、能力建構經理Ms Thuy Bui、義大醫院鄭勝峰副院長、梁正隆國際長、施翔順主任、陳建忠主任、陳嘉卿高專、許文甄管理師，以及義守大學林許淑謙教授與吳岱栖國際長，進行四方會談。

(2019/12/20 E-Da Hospital, Kaohsiung) On behalf of the Wenzao USR Team, four teacher representatives attended a pleasant meeting with Operation Smile Vietnam delegation through the arrangement of E-Da Hospital. The Wenzao representatives (Prof. L.Y. Chen, Prof. Samuel C.Y. Ku, Prof. Melody Liao and Ms. Mu-hua Chi) led by Prof. Liao participated in 4-sided communication with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Duc, OSV Program Director and Ms Thuy Bui, OSV Capacity Building Manager, together with Dr. Seng-Feng Jeng, Dr. Liang, Dr. Shih, Dr. Chen, Ms Chen and Ms. Hsu of E-Da Hospital and also Prof. Anna Warangkana Lin and Prof. Wu of I-Shou University.

兩小時緊湊的會議由越方簡報開始，說明OSV之使命、國際志工醫師們在越南進行兒童之唇顎裂手術與醫療成果等。特別讓人欽佩的是鄭勝峰副院長20年來長期在越南無私之奉獻與教導當地之外科醫生進行相關手術，致力提昇當地手術品質及安全，已獲得越方醫療界極高之肯定。

The busy 2-hour meeting started with a briefing on OSV’s surgical mission in Vietnam and their achievements of cleft lip and palate surgeries on children with the help from international medical volunteers. In particular, Dr. Jeng’s long-term unreserved dedication to Vietnam for over 20 years and his training of the local surgeons to promote surgery quality and safety have highly won recognition from the Vietnamese medical circle.

四方並且深入討論未來可能之合作事宜，USR團隊期望與Operation Smile、義大醫院、義守大學跨界、跨國、跨域合作下能看到更多台灣學子們願意走出舒適圈、投入團隊精心設計的專業服務學習方案，不僅能為越南當地病童們帶來手術後的新生，也為自己打開國際新視野。

The four related parties discussed in detail cooperation possibilities in the future. The Wenzao USR Team anticipates a cross-industrial, cross-national, and cross- disciplinary collaboration with Operation Smile, E-Da Hospital, and I-Shou University, in the hope of seeing more Taiwanese students willing to move out of their comfort zone and indulge in projects of professional service learning. These programs especially designed by Wenzao USR Team aim to benefit not only those children in need of surgical help by bring them a rebirth with a new face and new identity but also the volunteers themselves with a new vision followed by gaining insight from service.
