分享微笑，分享愛! Share smiles! Share love!

全球每年3億1290萬宗外科手術中，僅有6.3% 的手術是有機會給予到全球的貧窮人口。來自世界各地的專業醫護人員奉獻了上萬個小時擔任「微笑行動」志工，以關愛救治那些遍布全球的唇顎裂兒童，為他們帶來可能連自己也不敢想像的人生逆轉。

Out of approximately 312,900,000 surgeries every year, only 6.3% are given to the poor. A number of professional medical personnel from around the world dedicate over ten thousand hours of work as volunteers for Operation Smile, treating with love and care the children who suffer from a cleft lip or cleft palate and bringing them a change in life that they can hardly imagine.

繼我們USR團隊在9月參加OS in Vietnam的國際醫療行動後，(https://www.facebook.com/100003265038704/posts/2414952188623592?sfns=mo) 很榮幸邀請到Operation Smile 美國總部Virginia State的 Program Manager- Emilee Anderson來到文藻，和我們分享她實際國際服務的經驗及體會，並向我們介紹Operation Smile 微笑行動主要的活動內容及服務對象。此外，建議學生們如果想參與國際性NGO組織，可以透過他們的Global Student Program 和世界各地的大學生交流、累積自己的國際移動力經驗及軟實力，跟著這樣無私付出的國際機構到世界各地一同幫助這些無助的孩童們! 最後她邀請文藻的師生們參加2020 在Peru- 29th annual International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC)( https://studentprograms.operationsmile.org/conference/islc/ ). 期盼藉著本USR 計畫，讓台灣年輕學子們看見這些貧窮國家們孩子們的需要，能夠走出台灣去 『分享微笑，分享愛!』

After participating in Operation Smile’s international medical assistance action in Vienam in September ( https://www.facebook.com/100003265038704/posts/2414952188623592?sfns=mo), we, the Wenzao USR team, have enjoyed the pleasure of a visit made by Ms. Emilee Anderson, Program Manager of Operation Smile, from the headquarters in Virginia, US to share precious experience and reflections in her service and, and to introduce their programs and service target groups. In addition, she suggests if students would like to join NGOs, they may start with Operation Smile’s Global Student Program, in which they will encounter and exchange with university students globally, cultivate competence and experience for international mobility, especially the “soft power,” and travel around the world to assist those helpless children in the steps of such an altruist organization as Operation Smile. In conclusion, she extends an invitation to the Wenzao faculty and students to attend the 29th International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) in Peru in 2020 ( https://studentprograms.operationsmile.org/conference/islc/ ). We hope that through our USR projects, the youthful Taiwanese students will see the needs of children in poverty-stricken countries and move out of their comfort zone in Taiwan to “Share smiles! Share love!”
